Christopher Katongo is a football player from Zambia. Currently he plays for Henan Jianye as a striker. He was born in 1982 in Mufulira, Zambia. He began his senior career in 1999 at Butondo West Tigers, where he spent several months and then joined Kalulushi Modern Stars. He played for Green Buffaloes from 2001 to 2004 and then moved to South Africa, joining Jomo Cosmos, there he featured in 72 matches and scored 36 goals. In 2007, he went to a Danish side Brøndby for half a season and then switched to a German team Arminia Bielefeld. The 2010/11 season Chris Katongo spent in Greece playing for Skoda Xanthi and in July 2011 he moved to China, signing a two-and-a-half- year contract with Henan Jianye, playing in the Chinese Super League.
Christopher Katongo represents the Zambia national football team since 2003. He helped the team to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named the Player of the Tournament.
