Christopher Nöthe is a German striker of St. Pauli who was born on 3 January 1988 in Castrop-Rauxel.
Christopher was fostered in the VfR Rauxel academy located in his hometown. Soon he caught the eye of FC Schalke 04 scouts and was invited to the youth team. A year later the footballer had to join the youth ranks of VfL Bochum for two seasons. From 2003 till 2006 Christopher was a trainee at Borussia Dortmund, where he finished his youth career.
In 2006 Nöthe continued climbing up the career ladder entering the reserve team of the Black Yellows. The German netted 3 goals in his first 3 matches and was promoted to the first squad. His senior debut came on 29 September 2007 in a Bundesliga match against Karlsruher SC. Christopher made his first line-up start on 5 October of the same year.
In 2008 Nöthe was sent out on loan to the second division side Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. He joined the team after a serious injury, but managed to score 5 goals in 14 games. In 2009 Christopher transferred to SpVgg Greuther Fürth becoming the club’s top scorer with 15 goals during his first season.
In 2013 Christopher joined St. Pauli.
Nöthe was capped 7 times for the Germany national U-18 team and 1 time for the U-21 squad. He hasn’t been invited to the senior squad yet.
