Ciro Capuano is a left back for Catania. He was born on 10 August, 1981 in Naples, Italy.
Ciro’s professional career started at Empoli in 1999, with which he signed the first contract in his career. Before becoming a professional footballer, Capuano played at Empoli FC as a youth. However, in his first senior 1999/2000 season Ciro was never to play a match for the club. In 2000 he was purchased by Pisa, where he spent the best four years in his career. During that time the head coach put Capuano in the starting lineup as often as he could, which resulted in Ciro’s making 99 appearances and scoring 7 goals in four seasons.
In 2004 Capuano signed a deal with Bologna. For a two-year spell at the club the left back frequently appeared in the starting lineup, totaling 51 appearances. In 2006 Capuano signed for Palermo, but his stay there wasn’t particularly fruitful, as he made only 19 appearances in two and a half seasons. In January 2009 Ciro was loaned to Catania. A promising footballer fitted well into the team and played 18 matches for Catania by the summer of 2009. In the summer of 2009 Sicilian giants decided to buy the defender, because he possessed all the qualities of a reliable back. Currently Ciro continues his successful performance for the Italian club.
In 2002 Ciro Capuano got 1 cap for Italy U-20.
