Claudio Marchisio was born and raised in Turin, Italy. His entire family were Juventus fans. He was one of the ball boys at the Delle Alpi Stadium. With the lapse of time Claudio’s interest in football grew and after his good show in a local youth team he caught the eye of Juventus youth scouts. Aged 7, he entered Juventus FC youth program.
In 2005/06 season Marchisio was moved to the main team due to Fabio Capello’s decision and was given a squad number and started attending trainings. A little later he helped his team to win the Scudetto.
After Juventus relegation in 2006 Claudio was included in the first team and given number 15. He made his debut in the Coppa Italia match against Martina coming on as a substitute for Matteo Paro.
On 25 July 2007 Claudio Marchisio and Sebastian Giovinco were sent out on loan spells to Empoli F.C. for 2007/08 season. On 26 August he made his inaugural Serie A appearance against Fiorentina, and the UEFA Cup debut against FC Zürich. Claudio didn’t score a goal at Empoli, but was a regular starter for the club.
The following year Claudio returned to Turin as Empoli failed to avoid relegation to Serie B.
In June 2008 Marchisio married his girlfriend Roberta and they gave birth to two sons. He is known to supporters as either ‘Little Prince’, a nickname given to him by the football commentator Claudio Zuliani, or as ‘De Rossi from Turin’.
Claudio Marchisio is considered one of the most talented midfielders of the Italian national team, Juventus and entire Europe.
