Djakpa’s career began in Stella Club d’Adjamé. And in 2005 he signed a professional contract with this club, but soon after it he joined Sogndal from the Norwegian second division. The adaptation didn’t take the defender long and he soon became a first-string player reserving a regular starting spot for the entire season. But the management of Sogndal didn’t consider this fact good enough to extend the relations and Constant was transferred to Pandurii Târgu Jiu at the time participating in Romanian second division. There he spent all the season for the first squad and scored 2 goals. Bayer Leverkusen noticed the talented left back and without a moment hesitation offered him the contract Djakpa signed.
Constant was nine times starter for the German grandee and in 2009 was loaned to Hannover 96 to gain some experience. In the squad from Hannover the defender passed two seasons and had 38 appearances. After the loan the footballer was to return to Leverkusen to rejoin Bayer, but Djakpa insisted on breaking the relations off so that he could start looking for a new club. It was Eintracht Frankfurt which became the next step in Constant’s career. Here the left back was immediately shortlisted to the first eleven.
Djakpa’s international career started rather late as he began only with the U-23 national squad. Nevertheless in 2007 he was capped for the first team for Côte d’Ivoire and was fielded in African Cup of Nations 2008 in Ghana. Altogether for the moment his Côte d’Ivoire national team experience totals 2 games.
