Corona

A Spanish footballer Miguel Angel García Pérez-Roldán, often referred to as Corona, performs as a midfielder for UD Almería. Miguel was born on 12 February 1981 in Talavera de la Reina, Castilla-La Mancha.

Corona’s currently playing for Almeria in Segunda División. He joined the club in 2007. Thanks to his good fit and excellent ball possession, the midfielder started to make frequent appearances for the first eleven almost at once. The five seasons spent at the club were lined with seven balls racked up in 155 matches. Angel continues to appear as the member of the main squad quiet often.

Miguel went from the youth system of Real Madrid, where he got ready to perform at a senior level. The young footballer was a highly-rated player in the academy, that’s why very soon he got his opportunity on the club’s senior side. Corona joined Madrid B team in 2000. The midfielder amassed nine goals in 21 fixtures for the reserves.

In 2001, after Miguel’s contract had been bought out by Zaragoza, he got a full-scale professional start. Altogether, the player made 62 appearances and racked up two goals for the club. During the 2004/2005 season, he served loan to Poli Ejido. The season was lined with one ball netted in 31 games. In 2006, Miguel had a short spell at Albacete, where he was lucky to find net two times in 13 matches. In 2006, the midfielder agreed on a temporary deal with Almeria. The 2006/2007 season was lined with 40 appearances made and seven goals netted. After the spell had come to an end, the club’s management made the move permanent.

On international level, Miguel Angel used to play for the Spain national youth team from U-16 to U-21 levels. He made 22 appearances and netted eight goals for the national side during the period from 1997 to 2003. In 1997, the midfielder was selected to perform for the U-16 squad in the UEFA European Under-16 Football Championship.
