Bruno’s career’s lined with quite constant moves from one club to another that can’t be viewed as the absence of talent or Borbosa’s unwillingness to reveal his potential. His services are desired to be hired by various clubs and they are constantly striving to buy his contract out. Bruno’s famous for his dribbling skills and long passing.
In 2007, Bruno grabbed his first contract with Al-Shahaniya from Qatar. In a year he moved back to Rio de Janeiro, where he performed for Castelo Branco, where he remained until 2009. He left the squad and moved to another Rio de Janeiro state-based club – Quissamã. The next year, the defender defended Nova Iguaçu but very soon he was scouted by Botafogo. The spell with the club turned to be a success, as Bruno immediately established himself in the starting team. He made 28 appearances in the Série A.
After a successful season with Botafogo, Cortez was scouted by São Paulo. In December 2011, a contract was penned and the player turned into the club’s official member. He debuted for the new team on 22 January 2012 in a match against Botafogo de Ribeirão Preto. His debut goal was netted in May 2012 in a game with Goiás.
Bruno earned his first call for the Brazil national squad in 2011. He took part in a winning match against Argentina.
