Craig Mackail-Smith is a striker of Brighton and Hove Albion. He was born on 25 February 1984 in Watford, England.
In 2000, Craig graduated to the main team of St Albans City after he spent one year in their academy. The footballer penned a professional three-year contract and started to make occasional appearances for the club. That was a very hard period for the striker, who took part in 45 fixtures and found the net two times for St Albans City during three years.
In 2003, Craig completed a move to Arlesey Town and made impressing display during the season, as he amassed 17 goals in 54 matches for the new team. In 2004, the footballer left for Dagenham & Redbridge, where he made 106 appearances and netted 38 goals during three fruitful years, thus showing his imperious form.
In the summer 2007, Mackail-Smith sealed a deal with Peterborough United and became the pivot of the squad, who showed stunning performance in every game. The anchor player of the attacking line went on to net 80 times in 185 games and became one of the most prolific goalscorers in the history of the club.
In the summer 2011, Craig transferred to Brighton and Hove Albion and featured in 45 fixtures for the new team during his first year, which is almost the maximum of the season. The striker fired 18 goals for the club as of November 2012.
From 2005 till 2006, Mackail-Smith was capped seven times and contributed four goals for England C. From 2011, the player has taken part in six games and chipped in one goal for the Scotland national squad.
