Cristian Villagra is a left back at Metalist Kharkiv. Cristian was born on 27 December 1985 in an Argentinean city Morteros.
He began playing football in his home town Morteros; later he featured for a local club 9 de Julio. In 2004 Cristian transferred to Rosario Central. On 5 February 2006 the player made his debut in the Argentine Primera División in a match against Gimnasia. Villagra played 31 games scoring one goal for the team.
Together with his clubmates Juan Ojeda and Marco Ruben Villagra transferred to River Plate in 2007. Then in 2008 the team won Clausura. Cristian played 78 games scoring 3 goals for River Plate in all.
In July 2010 Villagra signed a contract with Metalist Kharkiv and on 10 July Cristian made his debut in the Premier League in a match against Tavriya Simferopol. Cristian played the whole game being substituted in the 83th minute by Serhiy Pshenychnykh.
On 19 August 2010 Cristian made his Eurocups debut in a match with Omonia Cyprus playing the whole game. The second match ended in a draw and Metalist moved on to the group round.
At the group stage Metalist became runners-up getting ahead of Hungarian Debrecen and Italian Sampdoria and giving away the top place to PSV, the Netherlands.
