Cristiano Del Grosso plays as a defender for Atalanta. He was born on March 24, 1983 in Giulianova, Italy.
Del Grosso’s professional career started in 2000, when the young defender signed a contract with Giulianova. The club was based in his native city, so he easily adjusted to the new conditions and played successfully. For the first five years Grosso gained absolute confidence of the Giulianova head coach, who included him in the starting eleven virtually in every game. From 2000 to 2005 Grosso kicked 7 goals in 132 matches for Giulianova.
In 2005 the defender was loaned to Ascoli for a year. During this period Grosso played as the key defender and took part in 30 matches.
In 2006 Cristiano Del Grosso signed a contract with Cagliari where he spent two seasons. The level of the Italian Serie A and high professionalism of competing teams made Grosso train harder to earn a place in the starting eleven. Unfortunately, his career in Cagliari was not a success, because he played only in 22 matches for two seasons.
At the beginning of the 2008/2009 Grosso managed to sign a contract with Serie A club Siena. He already had some experience of playing in the Italian Top Division, so he adjusted to the new conditions quickly. During his entire career in Siena Grosso was a key defender. He played in more than 130 matches for this football club. In 2013 he moved to Atalanta.
