Daan Bovenberg is a back of N.E.C. He was born on 25 October 1988 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Daan started to play football in Excelsior, where he made his début on 1 December 2007 in the away 6-0 loss to Willem II. The footballer made only two appearances during his first senior season, because he got a cheekbone fracture in the game versus Roda. After a long recovery, Bovenberg returned to the main squad and took part in the home match against Dordrecht on 21 November 2008. Two years later, on 15 August 2010, the back netted his first goal in the home 3-2 victory over Feyenoord. Daan featured in 59 games and fired six goals for Excelsior during four years.
On 25 August 2011, the footballer sealed a four-year deal with Utrecht, where he continues to perform at the position of a right back up till now. Bovenberg made his first appearance for the new club two days after signing a contract, on 27 August, in the home 3-1 win over Roda. The player took part in 16 fixtures and found the net three times for Utrecht as of November 2012. In January he signed a new deal with N.E.C.
