Damià Abella Pérez was born on April 15, 1982 in a Spanish town of Olot, Catalonia.
The first club of the footballer became Figueres in the Segunda division. After one season spent with the side he moved to Barcelona joining their B team in 2004.
Damià made his debut for the main squad quite soon, on October 30, 2004. This was due a grat number of injured among the starters of Barcelona. However he didn’t manage to maintain his main squad position and finished the season with a record of 9 appearances in La Liga and 21 for the reserve side. In January of 2006 Damià moved on loan to Racing de Santander.
In the summer of 2006 he joined Real Betis penning a 5-year contract. The Andalusian side agreed with Barcelona upon a €1 mln fee. The first goals that he scored for the side came in first two games of the season 2008/09. But, however the effort of the player Real Betis suffered relegation.
Damià moved to Osasuna in July 2010 after Betis didn’t manage to win promotion back to the Primera.
