Daniel Schwaab began his career in amateur club SV Waldkirch, which was located in his native town of the same name. In 2000 he moved to the youth team of SC Freiburg, clinched the title of the Under 19 Fußball-Bundesliga champion with the new club after a 4-1 victory over Karlsruher SC and was offered a professional contract. As the club suffered from an ‘injury epidemic’ that time, Daniel made his senior début in the fourth match of his team against TSV 1860 München at Allianz Arena before 40,000 spectators.
After Schwaab’s contract expired in 2009, he transferred to Bayer 04. The footballer soon proved to be a capable and promising young defender. By the end of the season he managed to come on the pitch with the main team and showed a stellar and encouraging performance, which later helped him to be let on the field more often. He took part in 30 matches out of 34 and became a regular. In 2013 Daniel joined Stuttgart.
On 21 August 2007, the Germany national U-21 team welcomed the back into the fold in the game against Ireland, where he was included in the starting line-up. Besides, Schwaab took part in the European U-21 Championship final, coming on as a substitute in the 68th minute and strolled to the golden medal with his national team.
In addition to his direct sport profession, Daniel also got economic education in college.
