Daniele De Rossi was born on 24 July 1983 in Rome, Italy. He began his youth career in 1997 entering the Ostia Mare club youth academy. Rossi was a key player in the youth team participating in Italian championship. He stayed with the academy for three years, until he caught the eye of AS Roma scouts. In 2000 Daniele underwent trials at Roma. The young midfielder got to the first team at the youth level, performing well in the first matches. As a result the coaches stated it clear that De Rossi should stay with Roma academy. It took him one year, from 2000 to 2001, to finally mature enough to make it to the main squad of one of the top clubs in Italian professional football.
In 2001 Daniele was offered to join the first team and sign a professional contract which was probably the most important event in his career. Rossi did what he was supposed to without hesitation and in the summer of 2001 joined the first team. Since 2001 he has been one of the key players of the club. At the very beginning of his professional career Rossi was gaining the necessary experience, and every now and then was included in the starting line-up. Since 2001 Daniele has netted 32 goals in 280 appearances for AS Roma.
From 2001 through 2004 Danielle De Rossi represented Italy at under-19 and under-21 championships, making a total of 23 appearances and scoring 5 goals.
