Danijel Subotić is a Swiss striker of Serbian origin for Volyn Lutsk. He was born on 31 January, 1989 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Danijel began his youth career at FC Basel, and at the age of 18 moved to Portsmouth.
Unfortunately, despite Portsmouth former coach Harry Redknapp’s faith in Subotić, things went wrong for him at the English side.
In 2008 Subotić was loaned to Belgian club Zulte Waregem, where he netted 1 goal in 13 matches. In the next season Danijel returned to Portsmouth to feature in five matches and net 2 goals.
In 2010 Subotić went to Italy, where he couldn’t get into the first team of Serie B Grosseto. Danijel has acquired his first stable match practice at the Romanian side Universitatea Craiova. There he played 15 Romanian Liga II matches and scored 5 goals.
During the first half of 2012 Subotić represented Romanian Târgu Mureș, and later that year he moved to neighboring Ukraine to defend the colors of Volyn Lutsk.
Subotić played for Switzerland U-19 and took part in the qualifying matches at Euro 2008.
