A South African footballer Danleigh Borman plays as a winger for SurerSport United. He was born on 27 January 1985 in Cape Town.
Danleigh started his junior career at the academy of Santos. In 2004, he moved to the USA, where he was selected for the youth side of Rhode Island Rams. The same year, he finished with five assists and two goals winning the title of the Rookie of the Year. In 2006, Borman was awarded with the title of the A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player and, in 2007 he became the member of the Atlantic 10 All-Conference second squad. Altogether, the footballer netted seven goals and produced 16 assists in 83 games for Rhode Island.
In 2008, Borman moved to New York Red Bulls. His debut season for the new club was lined with two goals scored in 15 matches. In 2009 the footballer was used both as a left back and as a midfielder. He ended the spell with four goals netted in 59 fixtures.
On 1 April 2011, Danleigh together with his teammate Tony Tchani was scouted by Toronto FC. Borman debuted for the team the following day, on 2 April, in a game with Chivas USA. He ended the season with 22 appearances made. Nevertheless, the footballer and the club didn’t manage to agree terms, so Borman returned to his motherland, where he joined SuperSport United.
Danleigh used to represent the South Africa national youth team at U-20 level.
