Daniel Ben Murphy is a retired English midfielder. He was born on 18 March 1977 in Chester, England. The footballer is renowned for his Liverpool performance.
Danny’s career took off in Crewe Alexandra in 1993. The footballer spent four years with his first team before transferring to Liverpool, where he failed to clinch a place in the starting line-up and was sent on loan to his previous club. In 1999, Murphy returned to ‘The Reds’ and was given a lot of chances to come on the pitch. The midfielder helped his squad to lift the FA Cup, the Football League Cup, the UEFA Cup, the Community Shield and the UEFA Super Cup.
In 2004, Danny decided to move to Charlton Athletic, where he netted seven goals in 56 matches during two years. In 2006, the footballer sealed a one-year deal with Tottenham and fired two goals in 23 fixtures for the team before penning a contract with Fulham.
In 2012, Murphy’s services were secured by Blackburn Rovers for one year. In 2013 the 36-year old player retired from professional football.
From 2001 till 2003, the midfielder was capped nine times and contributed one goal for the England national squad.
