Danny is a midfielder of Zenit. He was born on 7 August 1983 in Caracas, Venezuela.
At the age of 15, Danny and his family moved to Portugal, where he started to perform for Marítimo. At first, the footballer played for youth teams, but earned the right to make his senior début for the main team of the club in 2000. During two seasons, the midfielder took part only in ten games and netted five goals.
Nobody knows how Sporting managed to see the footballer’s talent before penning a contract with him in 2002. Danny did not turn 19 at that time, but the management of the new club wanted him to make crowning achievements, which resulted in his making only several appearances before going on loan to Marítimo.
The team then was led by Anatoliy Byshovets, who managed to find a special approach to the midfielder, which helped the latter to reach the top. During the 2003/2004 season, the player managed to make 22 appearances and fire one goal.
Danny must have asked his coach for a piece of advice, when Dynamo Moscow lodged a bid for the footballer. Nobody knows, what the Russian manager answered, but the Portuguese player made his début for the new cub in March 2003. Dynamo bought several footballers at that time, but Danny turned out to be the most ‘long-living’.
The back featured in 97 games and amassed 17 goals for the team. Besides, he made a tattoo with a capital ‘D’ and his number ten.
The footballer’s success in Zenit cannot be underestimated, as he became the best player of the 2008 UEFA Super Cup finals, where Danny helped his team to overcome Manchester United. Besides, the footballer managed to lift the Russian Cup (2009/2010) and picked up the bronze medal of the RPL. The midfielder also was in top 33 players of the country in 2007 and 2008, but failed to retain his place in 2009 due to a serious trauma.
