Dario Vujičević is a midfielder of Heracles Almelo. He was born on 1 April 1990 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The footballer has a dual citizenship – Croatian and German.
When the future player was two years old, his family moved to Gronau, Germany, where Dario started to play in youth Emsdetten 05. However, the footballer did not stay there for long and joined more prestigious Schalke 04. Vujičević’s progress drew attention of several European clubs, including Dutch side Twente.
The midfielder went to the Netherlands and began to play for the youth squad of the club. Dario’s performance earned him a place in the main team, and he made his professional début on 25 April 2009 in the away 1-1 draw with Heerenveen. At the beginning of the following season, the management of Twente extended the footballer’s contract till the middle of the summer 2012.
On 4 January 2011, Vujičević went on a six-month loan to VVV-Venlo, where he made 15 appearances and netted one goal during his spell.
After his temporary contract expired, the midfielder returned to Twente, but did not manage to take part in any games of the season due to an injury. Dario featured in 23 matches for the club and penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with Heracles Almelo in the winter 2012.
