Darren Paul Ambrose is a midfielder of Birmingham City. He was born on 29 February 1984 in Harlow, England.
Darren’s professional career took off in Ipswich Town in 2001, when the footballer penned his first senior contract with the club. Ambrose was often given a chance to take part in various fixtures, which helped him to find the net eight times in 30 matches during two seasons.
In 2003, the midfielder drew the attention of Newcastle United and received a tempting offer from ‘The Magpies’, who arranged everything and got ready for Darren’s move in the summer the same year. The footballer fired five goals in 37 games for the club during two years.
In 2005, Ambrose transferred to Charlton Athletic and clinched a regular place in the main squad at once. However, in 2008, the midfielder went on loan to Ipswich Town and took part in nine fixtures during six months. After returning to his parent Charlton, Darren took his tally to 112 appearances and 13 goals by 2009.
In 2009, the footballer sealed a deal with Crystal Palace and was given an opportunity to become a part of the starting XI at once. Ambrose amassed 29 goals in 110 matches for the club during three years.
In 2012, Birmingham City secured the midfielder’s services and saw him make five appearances as of January 2013.
From 2003 till 2005, Darren was capped ten times and contributed two goals for the England national U-21 team.
