Darren Barr Fletcher, a Scottish footballer, plays for the Scotland national team and the English side Manchester United.
In 2000 Darren joined the Manchester United youth academy and signed a contract with the club in 2001. Fletcher played as a midfielder as the management saw a possible Beckham successor in him. Due to injuries the footballer rarely took part in games, but in 2003/2004 he returned to the first team. Yet the following season he did not make many appearances again. After recovering Darren started playing in the first eleven of the team. Still being an outstanding and hardworking player he is prone to blows that influence his career a lot.
From 2002 Fletch started to play for the Scotland national youth team and in a year he became a regular of the full squad. During all that time he captained his national teams four times.
Being a player of the ‘Red Devils’, Fletcher lifted the FA Cup (2004), the Community Shield (2003, 2007, 2008, 2010), the FIFA Club World Cup (2008) and was the Champions League Winner (2008).
