Daryl Janmaat is a back, born on 22 July 1989 in Leidschendam, Netherlands.
Daryl’s career took off in youth team Tonehido, from where he moved to the academy of Feyenoord. However, the footballer did not stay there for long and transferred to ADO Den Haag. Janmaat’s professional début came on 5 October 2007 in the match against Zwolle. One week later, Daryl went on to the net of Oss and got on the scoresheet.
In July 2008, the back penned a four-year contract with Heerenveen, took the place of a right back and was given number 19 shirt. The footballer made his début for the new club on 31 August 2008 in the 3-2 victory over Volendam. Janmaat got on the team’s scoresheet after netting a goal in the match against Roosendaal on 28 October 2009.
Daryl made 73 appearances and fired five goals during his spell with Heerenveen.
On 30 June 2012, the footballer’s contract with the club expired, and he moved to Feyenoord on a free transfer. On 1 February 2012, Janmaat put pen to paper of a three-year contract.
In the summer 2014 Janmaat was lured to Newcastle United.
Since 2012 Janmaat has been capped for the Netherlands national team and won bronze medals of 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
