David Bellion is a striker at Bordeaux. He was born on 27 November 1982 in Sèvres, France.
David’s youth career began with a prestigious Cannes football academy in 1996. He had been attending the academy until he was signed to a contract.
In 1998 Cannes managers offered the footballer to sign a professional three-year contract and afforded an opportunity to practice in the first squad and later on feature for the first team. It was a qualitative leap for David who was consequently very glad to sign a contract. David never took the field for the team in the three years he spent at the club.
In 2001 David began getting offers from abroad. David Bellion accepted the proposal of the English club Sunderland that signed the player to a two-year contract. From time to time David appeared for the team however not as often as he wished. As a result David played 20 matches and scored 1 goal in two seasons.
Despite the small number of appearances such influential English club as Manchester United took an interest in the footballer. David signed a three-year contract with the club, up to 2006. At a club of such a level as Manchester United the competition continues day and night. In spite of good makings David was not highly esteemed by the head coach; only occasionally he featured as a substitute.
In 2005 the club resolved to release the footballer on loan to West Ham United, playing in the Premier League, though the contract with Manchester United was not expired. David played in only one season in the Premier League taking part in 8 matches for the club.
In 2006 David moved to the French Nice where he showed to good advantage. After brilliant appearances Nice made a decision to acquire David from Manchester United. After all the deal nuances were settled David signed a contract and continued playing for the club. David played 45 matches for Nice scoring 12 goals during a year and a half.
In 2007 the footballer was acquired by Bordeaux. Despite his successful appearances the club resolved to loan the player to Nice from which he was once acquired. After the loan period was over David returned to Bordeaux for which he is currently featuring.
From 2002 to 2003 David played for The France national U-21 football team appearing in 4 matches.
