David Elm is a striker who plays for Elfsborg. He was born on 10 January 1983 in Broakulla, Sweden.
David began his junior career at Johansfors IF and later switched to Emmaboda IS. In 2004 the footballer penned a professional contract with Falkenbergs. From 2004 to 2006 he registered 68 appearances and scored 14 goals for the club.
In January 2007 Elm joined the Swedish side Kalmar. During his 2007-2009 spell at the club the striker featured in 65 games and netted 11 goals. In 2007 he assisted the team in winning Svenska Cupen. In his first season at Kalmar, David had little playing time, but was ever-present in the next season.
In 2009 the footballer completed a move to Fulham for a fee of around £0.5 million. On September 23, 2009 Elm made his debut for Fulham in the League Cup third-round match against Manchester City, coming on as a substitute for Eddie Johnson in the 91st minute. David scored his first goal for Fulham in a 3-0 win over Burnley. From 2009 to 2011 he participated in 10 games for the first team.
On 24 January 2011 Elm was transferred to Elfsborg, signing a five-year contract with the Swedish club. Elm lacked regular football at Fulham and decided to join Elfsborg, which needed an experienced striker at that time. Since then David has participated in over 50 games and scored more than 10 goals.
