David Forde is a goalkeeper of Millwall. He was born on 20 December 1979 in Galway, Ireland.
In 1999, David penned his first professional contract with Galway United and started to perform for the main squad of the club. The footballer got a chance to make occasional appearances on the pitch and took part in 38 fixtures during two seasons.
In 2001, Forde transferred to Barry Town and featured in 16 games for the team before completing a move to West Ham United. However, the management of ‘The Hammers’ decided to send the keeper on loan first to Derry City, where he made four appearances, then to Barnet, where he took part in seven matches. In 2004, David returned to his boyhood Galway United and featured in 22 games for the club during half a year. In 2005, the footballer sealed a deal with Derry City and clinched a regular spot between the posts, which helped him to make 63 appearances during one year and a half.
In 2006, Forde put pen to paper of a contract with Cardiff City and took part in seven fixtures for ‘The Bluebirds’ before being sent on loan to Luton Town, where he featured in five games. In January 2008, the goalie finalized a temporary move to Bournemouth and made 11 appearances for the team during his spell.
In the summer 2008, Millwall secured David’s services and saw him guard the goal in 181 matches as of January 2013.
From 2011, the footballer has been capped four times for the Republic of Ireland national squad.
