David Goodwillie is a striker, born on 28 March 1989 in Stirling, Scotland.
David’s youth career took off in the academy of Carse Thistle, where the footballer spent several years and drew the attention of Dundee United. In 2003, Goodwillie moved to the new youth system and got ready for a professional start.
In 2006, the striker penned his first senior contract, but he could not boast of regular appearances during the début season. In 2007, David was sent on loan to Raith Rovers and netted nine goals in 21 fixtures for the temporary team during one year. The head coach of his parent Dundee United started to give the footballer more playing time and saw him score 29 goals in 117 matches for the club during four seasons.
In 2011, Blackburn Rovers secured Goodwillie’s services on permanent basis. The striker found the net two times in 20 fixtures during the 2011/2012 season and went on loan to Crystal Palace. Later on he had spells with Dundee United and Blackpool. In the summer 2014 Goodwillie penned a permanent deal with Aberdeen.
From 2004 till 2010, the footballer featured in 30 games and fired 11 goals for the Scotland national U-16, U-17, U-19 and U-21 squads. From 2010, he has been capped three times and contributed one goal for the full national team.
