David Murphy is a back of Birmingham City. He was born on 1 March 1984 in Hartlepool, England.
In 2001, David graduated from the academy of Middlesbrough and was offered to pen his first professional contract. The footballer accepted the offer without hesitation, but made only 13 appearances for the club during three years.
In January 2004, Murphy went on a six-month loan to Barnsley and netted two goals in ten fixtures for the team during his spell. In the summer 2003, the back sealed a permanent deal with Scottish side Hibernian and showed steady performance by firing four goals in 107 matches during four seasons, which helped him to draw the attention of various English teams.
In the summer 2008, David completed a move to Birmingham City on a long-term deal. The footballer adapted to the new conditions really soon, but the head coach did not let him come on the pitch in the starting line-up at once. Murphy featured in 100 games and found the net five times for the club as of January 2013.
