David Perkins is a midfielder, born on 21 June 1982 in Heysham, England.
David started his professional career in Morecambe in 2000. The footballer spent two years with the club before clinching a regular place in the main squad, which helped him to come on the pitch more often. He made 176 appearances and fired one goal for the club during seven years.
In 2007, Perkins transferred to more prestigious Rochdale and clinched a spot in the starting XI at once, which saw him score four goals in 58 fixtures during one year and a half. In the summer 2008, the midfielder penned a contract with Colchester United, but spent only one season with the new team before being sent on loan to Chesterfield. David fired one goal in 13 games for the club during his spell and sealed a temporary deal with Stockport County at the beginning of 2010. The footballer took part in 22 matches for ‘The Hatters’ during six months and returned to his parent Colchester United, where he took his spell to seven goals in 79 fixtures by 2011.
In the summer 2011, Perkins put pen to paper of a contract with Barnsley and became one of anchor midfielders of ‘The Tykes’, who found the net two times in 69 games for the club.
In January 2014 Perkins moved to Blackpool.
From 2003 till 2006, David was capped nine times for England C.
