David Prutton is a midfielder of Sheffield Wednesday. He was born on 12 September 1981 in Hull, England.
David spent last three years of his youth career in the academy of Nottingham Forest and penned his first professional contract with the club in 1998. The footballer netted seven goals in 143 fixtures for ‘The Foresters’ during five years and drew the attention of various English teams.
In 2003, Prutton sealed a deal with Southampton and fired three goals in 82 games for ‘The Saints’ during three years and a half. In January 2007, the midfielder went on loan to his boyhood Nottingham Forest and found the net two times in 12 matches for the club during six months.
In the summer 2007, Leeds United secured David’s services and saw him score four goals in 65 fixtures during three years. In January 2010, the footballer completed a move to Colchester United and went on to net three times for the team before signing for Swindon Town, where he kicked three goals in 41 games during one season.
In 2011, Prutton put pen to paper of a contract with Sheffield Wednesday and chipped in two goals in 15 matches for ‘The Owls’ before being sent on loan to Swindon Town. The midfielder made 13 appearances for the club during his spell and returned to his parent Sheffield, where he took his tally to two goals in 33 fixtures as of February 2013.
From 2000 till 2003, David was capped 25 times for the England national U-21 squad.
