David Rozehnal – is a central defender of Lille OSC. He was born on 5 July 1980 in Šternberk (Czechoslovakia).
His senior career started in 1999 when he joined Sigma Olomouc. During four seasons until 2003 a young defender participated in 72 matches scoring 2 goals.
In 2003 C moved to Belgian Club Brugge where he starred in the major squad being a mainstay of the team. In two seasons he scored 1 goal in 50 appearances with the club.
From 2005 till 2007 Rozehnal represented Parisian PSG. 75 times the club’s manager placed the defender in the major squad and the player in his turn netted 1 goal for the team.
In 2007 the player moved to England. He signed a contract with Newcastle United FC for a year. However the defender played for the club only for half a season taking part in 21 matches. In January 2008 the club decided to loan him to SS Lazio from Italian Serie A.
When the loan spell was over Lazio’s management resolved to buy the player out from the English club as David kept to a suitable style of play. In the 2008/09 he participated in 28 club matches.
In 2009 Rozehnal agreed to a contract with German club Hamburger SV from the Bundesliga. The defender joined the club on a two-year deal but starred for the club only for one season. For that time he managed to perform in 23 club matches.
In 2010 he left Hamburger SV for Lille on loan where during the 2010/11 season the player featured in 27 matches.
In 2011 the defender officially joined Lille after the club’s management made a decision to buy him out from German club.
From 2001 till 2002 Rozehnal was a Czech U-21 international appearing in 8 matches. From 2004 till 2009 he was called up to 60 matches for the Czech Republic national team and he even scored 1 goal.
