David Silva is a supporting striker of Manchester City. He was born on 8 January 1986 in Arguineguín, Spain.
His youth career began in 1995, when he joined the San Fernando academy. David had been an academy trainee for five years before receiving an offer to move to the Valencia academy. Silva accepted the offer and played for the new club till 2003, when he was asked to sign a professional contract.
After the deal was made the footballer was first sent to a reserve team, where in 2003/2004 he made 14 appearances and scored one goal. After great performance for the reserve team, Silva became a first team player. In spite of joining the first team, he was sent on loan to Eibar in 2005. In 2004/2005 David netted five goals in 35 matches for the temporary club.
In 2005 Silva went on loan again, this time to Celta de Vigo. David soon became a key player of the new temporary club, taking part in 34 matches and making four goals.
After two years of steady performance for temporary clubs, Silva became one of Valencia’s pivots. From 2005 till 2010 Silva made 119 appearances and found the net 21 times.
In 2010 Silva signed a four-year contract with Manchester City, as the club was refreshing its squad. The transfer cost was undisclosed. From 2010 David made more than 71 appearances and kicked 16 goals.
From 2001 till 2006, David Silva was capped for the Spain national U16 and U21 football teams, making 23 goals in 54 games. From 2006, David is a regular of the Spain senior team. He made 64 appearances and contributed 18 goals. His opening goal in the final game against Italy at Euro 2012 is probably the most important goal so far.
