David Simão is a French-Portuguese midfielder born on 15 May 1990 in Versailles, France.
In 1997 Simão started his junior career at the academy of Abóboda. During 2 years he was a product of this football academy until he attracted the attention of Benfica. In 1999 David visited the training centre of the Lisbon team and took part in an exhibition match. After that he officially entered the academy of this club and joined one of its youth squads. During ten years David Simão was a product of the Benfica academy where he prepared to start the career in professional football.
In the summer 2008 Simão signed for Benfica, however in 2009 David was sent on loan to Fátima. During his one-year spell with this temporary team he kicked 5 goals in 25 matches for Fátima.
In 2010 the situation repeated, and David Simão penned a loan contract with Paços de Ferreira where he moved for one season. During this period the midfielder won the trust of the head coach who included him in the starting line-up in 25 matches for Paços de Ferreira.
In January 2012 Benfica’s management decided to loan the footballer to Académica where he netted once in 11 matches in the 2nd half of the 2011/2012 campaign. In July 2012 he was loaned to the Portuguese outfit Marítimo. Upon returning from loan Simao moved to Arouca.
From 2006 to 2010 David Simão scored 6 goals in 32 matches for the Portugal U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-21 national teams.
