David Targamadze is a loaned winger for Illichivets Mariupol. He was born on 22 August 1989 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
In 1998 David joined the youth academy of Dinamo Tbilisi. Here the midfielder stayed until 2006, gathering experience and honing his skills.
In 2006 Targamadze entered the youth system of German SC Freiburg. Two years after, in 2008, David concluded his first professional contract with the German club. Unfortunately for Targamadze he could not establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup and played only eight games in two years.
In 2010 David was purchased by Ukrainian side PFC Oleksandria and stayed there for season and a half. During that time the Georgian scored 12 goals in 35 matches. In 2012 Shakhtar Donetsk purchased Targamadze and loaned him to his current Illichivets Mariupol right off.
From 2007 to 2009 David Targamadze played for Georgia U-19 and U-21, scoring a total of 1 goal in 8 appearances. Since 2011 David Targamadze plays for the national team of Georgia, with 12 international caps and 2 goals so far.
