David Sergio Trézéguet is a footballer of French- Argentinean origin. Currently he plays for Club Atlético River Plate as a striker.
Trézéguet was born in 1977 in Rouen, France. He graduated from Club Atlético Platense youth academy and made his first team debut in 1994. He featured in 5 matches for the main team and in 1995 moved to France, where he joined AS Monaco. He left the club in 1999 and during his spell there made 113 appearances and scored 60 goals helping his team to win two Ligue 1 titles and Trophée des champions.
Then Trézéguet joined Juventus for a fee of £20million. In his second season he the team won Serie A title and he became the top goal scorer netting 24 goals in 34 league matches. He stayed with the club until 2010 though the team, having won the 2004/05 and 2005/06 Serie A titles, was deprived of them because of the match-fixing scandal in 2006. Nevertheless he didn’t leave the club and helped Juve to return to the top flight.
At the end of August 2010 Trézéguet joined Hércules CF which had recently got promotion to La Liga. He played for the team during one season and as they suffered relegation David left the club. Part of the 2011/12 season he spent at Baniyas SC though being sidelined for major part of the season due to an injury. In December 2011 Trézéguet signed a three-year contract with Argentinean side River Plate.
David represented the France national team at different levels and was a part of the team winning the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He helped the team to finish runner up at the major championship in 2006 and win UEFA European Football Championship in 2000. All in all he netted 34 goals in his 71 matches for the senior team.
