David Zurutuza Veillet is a French footballer with Spanish citizenship, who currently plays for Real Sociedad as an attacking midfielder.
Zurutuza was born in 1986 in Rochefort, France. His mother is a French and father is a Spanish. When David was child, his family moved to Spain, where he started playing in Deba, Gipuzkoa, and then joined Real Sociedad youth ranks.
Since 2005 he played for their reserve team and the season 2007/08 he spent in SD Eibar on loan. The 2008/09 campaign he played for Real Sociedad B in the Segunda División B and in November 2008 he made his first 9-minute appearance for the first team in a 1-0 victory over SD Huesca.
In the 2009/10 season Real Sociedad returned to La Liga after a three-year absence and Zurutuza helped the team, appearing in 28 games and scoring four goals. The following season he was a regular player and missed only two league games, helping his team to stay in La Liga.
