Dean Hammond is a midfielder of Leicester City. He was born on 7 March 1983 in Hastings, England.
In 2000 Hammond graduated from the academy of Brighton & Hove Albion and joined the main team of the club. The footballer penned a long-term contract, which was extended many times during Dean’s performance. After two seasons with ‘The Seagulls’, Hammond went on a six-month loan to Aldershot Town so that to get playing practice. The young midfielder managed to make seven appearances before the summer the same year, when he completed a loan move to Leyton Town, and featured in eight games of the temporary club during the first half of the 2003/2004 season.
After returning from loan, Hammond was given more playing time, which helped him to stay in the parent club for many years. The head coach let the footballer on the pitch 136 times and Dean repaid him by amassing 21 goals. At the beginning of 2008, Hammond ended his Brighton & Hove Albion spell with Colchester United move, where he made 56 appearances and netted five goals till the summer 2009.
In 2009 Dean transferred to Southampton and continued to play for the club till 2012 when he was loaned to Brighton & Hove Albion. The footballer’s experience was appraised by the head coach, who made Hammond one of the anchor players in the midfield. Dean featured in 124 fixtures and fired ten goals for ‘The Saints’ during three years.
Since 2013 Hammond has played for Leicester City.
