A Serbian player Dejan Lekić is a striker for Gençlerbirliği S.K.
At the age of 17 he played for FK Sloga Kraljevo youth team. One year later the player moved to Popovići. Over a period of two years from 2005 Dejan starred for FK Metalac Kraljevo and the following two years he spent at FK Zemun.
In June 2009, Lekić was bought by Red Star Belgrade. On 15 August a Serbian striker made his debut at the UEFA Europa League match against Georgia. Throughout the whole season the player netted 12 goals in 27 matches for the club. Due to that he was the fifth in the list of top scorers and caught the eye of various Spanish clubs among which were CA Osasuna and Racing. At the end of June 2010 he joined CA Osasuna for fee of €2.5 million and signed a contract with that club for five years. His first season was quite successful as he made 27 total appearances and scored 2 goals. Actually, one of the goals turned out to be a winning one in the match against Sevilla FC. Dejan also managed to score a goal at the 2011/12 Copa del Rey. Due to Lekić’s double CA Osasuna won a sensational victory over FC Barcelona. In 2012 he moved to a Turkish side Gençlerbirliği S.K. but was loaned to Sporting Gijon for the season 2013/2014.
On 14 November 2009, the player made his debut for the Serbia national team in the friendly match against Northern Ireland. He also managed to participate in 2 more friendlies in 2010. At first, Dejan was even included into the preliminary squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup but later he was excluded.
