Dekel Keinan is a defender of Maccabi Haifa. He was born on 15 September 1984 in Rosh HaNikra, Israel.
The footballer began playing professionally with Maccabi Haifa. Keinan’s long career in this Israeli team had its ups and downs. During first two seasons Dekel gained playing experience during training sessions together with the first team of Maccabi Haifa. Moreover, the footballer made several appearances for his new team. In 2004 the club’s management decided to send Keinan on loan to Bnei Sakhnin where he spent part of the following season. Dekel scored 3 goals in 23 matches for his temporary team. In 2005 the defender was farmed out to Maccabi Netanya. He served a season-long loan spell at this Israeli outfit netting twice in 21 games. From 2002 to 2010 Dekel Keinan featured in 136 games and netted 6 goals for Maccabi Haifa.
In the summer 2010 Dekel completed a move to Blackpool where he spent half a season. During this short interval of time the defender took part in 6 games failing to establish himself within the squad. In January 2011 Keinan left England moving to Welsh side Cardiff City. During the 2nd half of the 2010/2011 campaign the footballer made several appearances for his new club, however in the summer 2011 he was sent on loan. During the 2011/2012 season Dekel Keinan was on loan to Crystal Palace and Bristol City.
In the summer 2012 Keinan returned to Maccabi Haifa.
From 2001 to 2003 Dekel Keinan notched once in 11 games for the Israel national U-19 football team. From 2003 to 2007 the defender was capped 30 times for the Israel national U-21 football team. Since 2007 Dekel has made more than 20 appearances for the senior side.
