Delron Sebastian Buckley is a footballer from South Africa, born in 1977 in Durban. Currently he plays for Maritzburg United as a winger. He began playing at Butcherfille Rovers Durban and at the age of 17 he moved to Germany and joined VfL Bochum in 1995. He stayed there till 2004 when he switched to Arminia Bielefeld, where he had a successful season scoring 15 goals in 29 matches.
In 2005 Delron Buckley signed a four-year contract with Borussia Dortmund for €425,000. He first season wasn’t a good one so for a second season he was sent on loan to Swiss team FC Basel. The 2007/08 season he spent with Borussia Dortmund but when Jürgen Klopp was appointed their manager Buckley fell out of favour. At the second half of the 2008/09 season he was loaned to 1. FSV Mainz 05 and then left Borussia for Cyprus where he joined Anorthosis Famagusta. In January 2011 Delron Buckley returned to Germany, that time joining Karlsruher SC playing in the 2. Bundesliga. In June 2012 he moved to South Africa, where he plays for Maritzburg United.
Since 1998 Buckley has represented the South Africa national team.
