Denis Glushakov was born on January 27, 1987 in Millerovo, Soviet Union. The boy was fatherless and it was his uncle, the famous ex-footballer of FC Spartak Moscow and the USSR national football team, Valery Glushakov who brought Denis up and opened him the gate to the big-time sports by taking him to the CSKA youth academy in Moscow. In 1999, the young footballer joined FC Nika Moscow, where he was finally noticed and in 2005 was scouted for FC Lokomotiv Moscow. The midfielder didn’t manage to get to the first squad at once and was loaned to FC SKA Rostov-on-Don in 2006 and to FC Zvezda Irkutsk in 2007. In 2008, the player was finally awarded the spot in the first side of Lokomotiv and after his debut on July 13, 2008 Denis has been an undisputed first-string player of the squad.
In 2013 Denis completed a move to Spartak Moscow.
Glushakov also has some international experience. In 2008, he was capped for the U-21 national football team and in 2011 the footballer made his debut for the senior Russia national squad in a friendly match against Qatar.
Denis Glushakov’s fellow-townsmen from Millerbourg, as Denis himself calls his native town, consider the footballer a real hero. There he constantly arranges different football tournaments and basing on the results rewards the young footballers with quality kits and football boots. The player’s cherished dream is to present Millerovo with a big modern stadium. Denis is rather modest about his charity activities and when asked about it he usually tries to shunt the conversation on his great love for his native heath.
