Dennis Diekmeier is a German footballer who operates at right back for Hamburger SV. He was born on October 20, 1989 in Thedinghausen, Germany.
Dennis was originally part of the TSV Bierden set-up before he moved to TSV Verden. In 2003 the talented youngster joined the Werder Bremen youth academy. Soon Dennis forced his way into the reserves where he made 19 appearances. But he didn`t manage to become a first-team regular and soon was loaned out to FC Nuremberg. He had a brilliant season in a Nuremberg shirt and was named defender of the season 2009 by Germany’s leading sports magazine Kicker. Dennis started a total of 47 matches for the club.
His impressive performance caught the eye of HSV. In 2010 Hamburg completed the signing of the promising right back. Soon Dennis picked up an injury which forced him to sit out nearly the whole season. He made his debut only in the 27th round helping his team secure a 6-2 victory. He also turned out for the reserves where he appeared in 4 matches and netted one goal.
Diekmeier claimed international honours, representing Germany at U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels. In 2008 the Germany national U19 team won the European Championship and Diekmeier was awarded with the Fritz Walter gold Medal.
