Derk Boerrigter is a professional football player from Netherlands who was born on 16 October 1986. Boerrigter started his football career in the team Quick’20, but at the age of 12 he was scouted by Twente, where he stayed for 2 seasons. In 2005 the player was invited to Ajax Academy and signed a two-year deal with the outfit. Boerrigter did not manage to become a regular in the senior squad and in 2007 he was loaned to HFC Haarlem, where he made his debut at the professional level on 2 February 2007 in the game against AGOVV Apeldoorn.
A season later the player sealed a contract with FC Zwolle, where he spent two seasons, totaling 63 appearances and netting a ball 11 times.
From 2009 to 2011 Derk Boerrigter played for RKC Waalwijk and during that spell the club clinched the title of the Eerste Divisie. Overall Boerrigter appeared in 64 matches and scored 25 goals.
In 2011 Ajax penned a three-year contract with the winger. After 45 appearances for the side Derk switched for Celtic in the summer 2013.
