Didier Ya Konan was born on 22 May 1984 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. He currently plays as a forward for Hannover 96 in Germany.
Aged 19, he got off to a flying start at ASEC Mimosas which, incidentally, was a feeder club to a number of topline football players. Didier was counted for a good deal shortly after his successful debut. In 2006, aged 22, Konan Ya moved to a Norwegian Rosenborg BK where, soon feeling at ease, he developed his game impressively. After three successful seasons at Norwegian club, he signed for German Hannover 96.
Konan Ya made his international debut in a splendid 5-0 victory over Gabon in October 2006. The latest game with his appearance was a 2-3 defeat to Austria in October 2007, when he entered the fray subbing for Arouna Koné in the 70th minute.
