A Spanish footballer Diego Capel Trinidad plays for Sporting Clube de Portugal, operating as a left winger. He was born on 16 February 1988 in Albox.
In 2000, Diego was drafted into the academy of Barcelona, where he’d been training during a season. In 2001, he was offered to join Sevilla and so he did. Over the course of three years spent at the club’s youth department Capel gained all the necessary experience and was ready to perform at a higher level.
In the summer 2004, Diego signed his first pro contract with Sevilla. First three years the footballer spent playing for the reserves, making only occasional appearances for the first team. In total, he featured in 88 matches and scored 7 goals for Sevilla B. In 2007, the player got promotion and became a member of the main squad, appearing 126 times and scoring 6 goals until the end of the spell.
Diego was noticed by various European clubs, but he preferred to join Sporting CP. In the summer 2011, a five-year contract was penned for a fee of €6 million. The Spaniard continues to make successful appearances for his new team.
From 2004 until 2012, Diego used to be the representative of the Spain youth national squad at U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20, U-21 and U-23 levels, making 60 appearances and scoring 9 overall goals. In 2008, the player got two calls for the Spanish senior side.
