Digão is a Brazilian defender born on 14 August 1985 in the Brazilian capital. He currently plays for the American side New York Red Bulls.
Digão began his career at São Paulo youth system in 2003. In 2005, he joined the first team of the Italian top-flight club Milan. He made his first appearance in the Rossoneri jersey in a friendly match against FC Dynamo Kyiv in the summer 2007. His Serie A debut came in a 1-1 draw against Lazio in March 2008. Though part of Milan squad for six years, Digão spent much time on loan in different clubs. Thus, he spent two seasons out with Rimini amassing 23 league matches there; in the 2008/09 season he played for Belgian side Standard Liège and the next season appeared in Lecce colours. In the 2010/11 campaign, Digão featured for Crotone and the Portuguese second division club Penafiel. In September 2012, he signed for the American MLS side New York Red Bulls.
