Dmitri Belorukov (nickname: Squirrel) was born on 24 March 1983 in Saint Petersburg. The young footballer passed the long way from an educatee of the Saint Petersburg Olympic Reserve School to the FC Amkar first-team captain.
During his school years, he was trained by some prominent Russian coaches. However, Zenit’s management did not recognize Dmitri’s potential and the player moved to FC Anzhi Makhachkala.
The young athlete played for the Russian U21 national team, but the first-team coach Guus Hiddink didn’t provide him an opportunity to shine at senior level.
In 2005 the player joined FC Amkar, where his talent didn’t pass unnoticed. When FC Saturn offered Belorukov to switch clubs, bosses of the Perm club immediately offered him an improved 3-year deal, so Dmitri decided to stay. In 2008 the player was named one of the best 33 footballers of the Russian Federation. When the long-serving head coach Rashid Rakhimov decided to leave the club, there were rumors that Belorukov would also leave FC Amkar following his tutor, but they were just rumors.
At the beginning of the 2011/12 season Dmitri was chosen to wear the captain’s armband.
