Dmitry Bulykin is a striker of Volga. He was born to a family of professional sportsmen on 20 November 1979 in Moscow, Russia. His parents were volleyball players; father performed for CSKA and was the European Champion. Bulykin’s sister played tennis, and Dmitry himself went in for football, volleyball and swimming.
In 1986 Bulykin started to pay more attention to football and managed to come on the field for Moscow side Lokomotiv, Trudovye Rezervy and CSKA, where he performed till 1996.
In 1997 the striker penned his first senior contract with Lokomotiv Moscow and played for the reserve team of the club.
The footballer earned fame, when he wore Dinamo’s colours and amassed 26 goals in 119 matches during seven years (from 2001 till 2007).
Dmitry played for Bayer 04 Leverkusen (15 appearances and two goals in 2007/2008), Anderlecht (ten games and three goals from 2008 till 2011), Fortuna Düsseldorf and ADO Den Haag (on loan).
On 31 August 2011, the player sealed a one-year deal with Ajax. He managed to make his début on 14 September, when Bulykin came on as a substitute in the match against Lyon.
Having made 28 appearances for the side, Bulykin moved to a Russian side Volga Nizhny Novgorod.
From 2003 till 2005, Dmitry was capped 15 times and contributed seven goals for the Russia national team.
