Dmitry Verkhovtsov is a defender of Belarusian descent who currently plays for Krylia Sovetov. He was born on 10 October 1986 in Moghilev, Belarusian SSR.
Dmitry began his junior career in 1993. In 2005 Verkhovtsov signed a professional deal with Naftan Novopolotsk and debuted for the first team. Dmitry was one of the key players at Naftan, subsequently becoming the team captain. In 2009 Verkhovtsov helped the outfit to win the Belarusian Cup. From 2005 to 2011 he registered 164 appearances and scored 17 goals for the club. In 2012 the footballer moved to Krylia Sovetov.
From 2006 to 2009 Verkhovtsov was called up to the Belarus U21 squad for 19 matches. In 2008 Dmitry debuted for the national team. Since 2008 he made over 30 appearances for Belarus.
