Doke Schmidt is a defender of Heerenveen. He was born on 1992 in Heerenveen, Netherlands.
Doke’s career took off in local Heerenveense Boys, where he drew the attention of SC Heerenveen in 2003. The young footballer cruised through all youth teams of the club before the 2010/2011 season, when he joined the main team and got number 17 shirt. Schmidt’s professional début for the squad came on 6 August 2011 in the home 2-2 draw with NEC, where Doke came on as a substitute for Filip Đuričić. The player managed to clinch the place of a regular due to the long absence of Daryl Janmaat, who was injured.
Schmidt penned a contract with Heerenveen till 30 June 2013. He made 17 appearances for the club during one season and was loaned out to Go Ahead Eagles in June 2013.
