Douglas Renato de Jesus, simply Douglas, is a goalkeeper of Vitória Guimarães. He was born on 9 March 1983 in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil.
In 2000 Douglas signed a professional contract with Botafogo where he spent three years. From 2003 to 2006 Douglas took a career break on personal grounds, that’s why the goalkeeper continued his performance only in 2006 when he signed for Iraty. During half a year the keeper made only several appearances failing to earn confidence of the head coach.
In January 2007 Douglas penned an agreement with Olimpia-SP where he spent some time before moving on loan to Sertãozinho in the same year. The club was satisfied with the goalkeeper’s performance, that’s why the management decided to purchase Douglas’ rights. In the summer 2007 the player officially joined Sertãozinho on a professional contract. During the season he played only several games for his new team.
In the summer 2008 Douglas moved to Santos on a permanent contract. In the 2008/2009 season Douglas delivered solid performance taking part in 24 matches as a first-choice goalkeeper. In 2010 he joined Ipatinga where he featured in 36 games during the 2010/2011 campaign. In the summer 2011 Douglas moved to Portugal and sealed a deal with Vitória Guimarães where he plays as a second-choice goalkeeper (as of May 2012).
